Terms of use

These terms are a starting point for an MVP and are not legal advice. Have a qualified lawyer review them before launch.

1. What this service is

The Likeness Index is an information service. It indexes licensing offers published by third-party marketplaces and rights holders and presents them for comparison. We are an index, not a marketplace, agency or broker.

2. We are not a party to any licence

  • Listings originate from the third-party platforms named on each result.
  • Inclusion does not mean we represent, are endorsed by, or have any relationship with the individual, their estate or their representatives.
  • Any licence is agreed directly between you and the originating platform or rights holder, on their terms.
  • We receive no part of, and have no visibility into, that agreement.

3. Accuracy

Pricing, availability and licensing terms change without notice, and source data can be incomplete or wrong. We show when each listing was last checked and how confidently it was read, but we do not warrant that any information is current, complete or accurate. You must confirm all rights, terms and permissions with the originating rights holder or platform before using anyone’s likeness or voice.

4. Permitted use

  • You may use this service to research and compare licensing offers.
  • You may not use it to build a competing bulk dataset, scrape it at volume, or resell its contents.
  • You may not use it to obtain or facilitate any unauthorised use of a person’s likeness or voice.

5. Rights holders

If you are the person listed, their estate, or an authorised representative, you can request correction or removal via the corrections process. We act on verified requests promptly and do not require a legal demand.

6. Third-party content

Marketplace names, descriptions and listing details belong to their respective owners and are used to identify and attribute the source of each offer. We claim no rights in them.

7. Liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude liability for any loss arising from reliance on information in this index, including any licensing decision made on the basis of it.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
