How this index works
The Likeness Index is a search layer over the marketplaces that license authorised AI versions of real people. One person is often listed on several platforms with different modalities, terms and prices; we merge those listings into a single profile so they can be compared.
Where listings come from
Each marketplace is integrated as a separate adapter, preferring an official API. Where a platform publishes a catalogue whose terms permit indexing, we read that. Where neither is available, the platform is listed on our marketplaces page with nothing indexed from it until access is granted.
We do not work around authentication, paywalls, CAPTCHAs or robots exclusions, and we do not index a source whose terms forbid it. We also do not copy or re-host photographs, audio or video from any platform.
What the labels mean
Authorised by source
The originating marketplace states the listing is authorised by the rights holder. It is their assertion, recorded faithfully — not our own verification of the underlying agreement.
Checked
When we last confirmed the listing against its source. Terms change without notice, so a stale check is a reason to verify before relying on anything.
Confidence
How reliably we could read a listing. Structured API data scores high; a price parsed out of display text scores lower. Low-confidence records are withheld from publication until they are reviewed.
What we never do
- We never invent a licensing term. Missing data shows as “Unknown” or “Contact platform”.
- We never claim to represent, own or license anyone’s likeness.
- We never merge two people just because they share a name.
- We never publish a suspicious change — a price jumping tenfold overnight is held for review rather than shown.
Corrections
Talent, estates, agents and platforms can request a correction or removal at any time. We act on verified requests from rights holders without requiring a legal process.
How we are funded
The index is free to use. It may later carry advertising, referral arrangements with marketplaces, or clearly-labelled sponsored placement. None of those are active today, and none will ever reorder organic results without disclosure on the result itself.
